Usher Position at SummerStage, Central ParkReporting to the Front of House Manager of SummerStage, Central Park, the Ushers are responsible for providing excellent customer service to guests throughout our venue in Central Park. Ushers are assigned various positions throughout the venue including: ticket scanning, VIP/Membership hospitality, seating assistants, and greeting/escorting at the entrance. Assigned positions vary from show to show.Compensation: $17.00/hourUsher responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Greet guests as they enter the venue and designated VIP areasPolitely escort guests to their appropriate seating areasAssist and escort patrons with disabilitiesAnswer audience questions regarding the venue, venue policies and amenities, performers and performance schedulesAdminister audience surveys to SummerStage attendeesAct as ambassador for the organization, answering questions for visitors about the Festival and CPFAssist the Box Office staff by scanning guests' tickets and ensuring count accuracyManage audience flow within the venue and VIP areas including implementing venue policies and credential requirementsAttend pre-event meetings and other training as assigned by the managerQualificationsMust be 18 years or olderMust have a minimum of one (1) year of Customer Service experiencePrior customer service and/or music venue operation experience preferredKnowledge of City Parks Foundation and/or SummerStage a plusExcellent interpersonal and communication skillsMaintain a professional, neat and well groomed appearanceExtremely dependable, punctual, detail-oriented, and organizedAbility and willingness to work in a fast-paced environmentAbility and willingness to work outdoors and in all types of weatherAbility to stand for long periods of timeAbility and willingness to work evening and weekend hoursDemonstrate good judgment and a professional demeanorApplication Process DetailsThe SummerStage season runs from May - October. Applications are reviewed pre-season (April – May) until positions are filled. As of May 4th, all of our usher positions are filled, but we still welcome you to apply and we will hold your resume on file should any openings arise during the season.
